Being saved...What is this term we hear used by the Church so often? You may have been told many times "to be saved" means to have everything in your world associated with fun and excitement cut off from you, or a lifestyle of don'ts. Neither of these is Salvation according to God's plan for you.

Man, because of his doctrines and religious denominations, and his failure to understand God's word, has given these rules. God says, "my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." (Hosea 4:6) The priests (pastors of today) had no compassion or love for the people because they did not seek understanding of the knowledge of God's will...only what would profit them, therefore the people suffered destruction (perished) as well as the priests.

God's salvation for man is simply deliverance for the whole man. The Greek word speaks for salvation of body, soul and spirit. Because of Adam's sin every man born into the world is born alienated or separated from God. (Rom. 5:12) Before Adam sinned, he had fellowship with God. This fellowship gave Adam the ability and power of God to rule the earth and have dominion over all of its creatures. (Ps. 8:6-8). When Adam disobeyed, fellowship was broken and spiritual death began to reign.

God loved mankind, therefore, he would not leave man in this state eternally. (Rom. 5:17-19)

Jesus through dying broke the power of spiritual death over mankind.

(Heb. 2:14) The choice is left to each individual whether they will receive or reject God's gift. Salvation does not come because you are a member of a certain denomination or by what our parents believed or taught us. It comes by each of us responding through faith, believing in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, to impart unto us His life by the Holy Spirit. (Eph. 2:8, Tit. 3:5)

Will you believe the Bible's definition for salvation? (II Cor. 5:17). If you desire more of what the word of God says concerning this or other related subjects please contact us.

"But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. "(Rom. 5:8 LB)

And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. (Luke 1:17)
